| Open a new document 300 X 300 pixels - this is big, but I transform these things way down anyway. Your background should be the background you plan to have on your web page. |

| Draw three equal lines the same distance apart. |
| Or, draw one line on a layer and copy the layer twice, then move the lines apart. Link these layers together and then "merge linked" from the layer palette options. |
| You don't have to use just 3 lines - try more lines, or try one thick bar from a rectangular selection filled with a funky gradient. All these variations give interesting effects. |
| Now use "Filter" ... "Polar Coordinates" ... "Rectangular to Polar" to get this look. |
| Make a copy of this layer by dragging it onto the New Layer icon ..... |

| Now use "Edit" ... "Transform"... "Flip Vertical" on the new copy to achieve this look. |
| You may have to move and rotate the top layer to make the ends match up just right. When it looks right, merge these two layers together. |
| Copy this layer, then use "Edit"... "Transform"... "Rotate 90 degrees" to get something like this. I usually start scaling things down about right now also. Merge these layers together and use "Transform" ... "Numeric" ... "Scale 50%" with "Constrain Proportions" checked. |
